I liked it, but could have been much better
A fun distraction for a bit, but too many levels of monotony. Levels have varying unit combinations, but after a while you can cruise past levels without needing to switch up your units. No story line, no big boss monster at the end, no way to customize units, no reason to use lower leveled units after new ones become available. I beat all 200 levels and the only thing that kept me going after a while was wanting to see the end.
Also, unit balance needs tweaking. I was mixing units, but stopped that once I figured out that if I just used 8 Sorcerers and leveled them up, Id gain a full bar of ether a turn, have 8 units with at least 3 times the HP of enemy units and massive attack power, and be able to use Meteor (full screen massive damage) every 5 turns. And for those nasty magic immunes, 4 orbs gets you a mind control spell that cant be blocked. After that, I tried switching to Knights or Ninjas or something else, but they werent nearly as efficient.
Thats not to say the game isnt worth getting and trying out. I got it at $0.99, which I think is a good price for it. Maybe $1.99 if a few tweaks were made to make it less monotonous.
